Immunoglobulin is a precious resource that is either donated freely by Australian donors, or imported from overseas. It is important that the allocation of immunoglobulin products are closely managed so that only those patients who can benefit from immunoglobulin treatment receive it. The National Blood Authority manages the governance arrangements, which are documented in the National Policy: Access to Government-funded Immunoglobulin Products in Australia (the National Policy).

It is essential that you understand these governance arrangements, and how they will assist you to provide the best care for your patients.
